Internationally known as POPST-ART (The Popstar of Art) – a title given to him by Augusto Sciacca, illustrious artist and Andy Warhol’s former collaborator – the Italian Mattia Bari is a POP-Artist, Performer and Creative Director which marked a new paradigm in the creative universe and in contemporary POP-ART, launching a new proposal of cultural innovation and artistic communication, founding his personal brand “MATTIA BARI USA” in NYC.

From 2023, Mattia Bari introduced his revolutionary pop art character, ‘FAKE’ , at the luxury Art Central Gallery located on Manhattan’s Billionaire’s Row. This debut marked FAKE’s entry into the American art scene, quickly transforming it into a major figure in New York City. The character’s popularity soared, with its image prominently displayed on Times Square billboards and a growing presence in galleries and showrooms across New York, Miami, and at Art Basel.

FAKE is a thought-provoking, ironic and controversial caricature of our contemporary world.
With its distinctive mask and rebellious demeanor, FAKE seeks to uncover the genuine essence within each person. Designed to reflect contemporary societal issues, FAKE has become a symbol of freedom and self-exploration, an avangardist aesthetic idea that pushing the boundaries of pop culture while integrating with cutting-edge fashion, design, and entertainment.

The success of the FAKE character and the colorful and captivating brand, has pushed the “MATTIA BARI USA” team to create events/shows where art comes to life like what happened in the luxurious fashion showroom at “doors.” in the heart of SOHO, NYC, promoted by VOGUE MAGAZINE in the last big event on March 23th, 2024.

The event saw an anxious crowd, despite an heavy storm, waiting patiently outside the building to immerse themselves in the colorful world of the POPST-ART.
Welcomed with 4D glasses, the immersive experience proposed by Mattia Bari transported audience on a fantastic journey through the most famous works of art of “FAKE”.

Among giant sweets, enigmatic masks and vibrant art, people were invited to leave behind the artificial world of “FAKELAND” and embrace their authenticity.

The “FAKEshion runway” kicked off a celebration of true identity, inspiring the audience to shed their masks and embrace their uniqueness.

The collaboration with “doors.” highlighted how Mattia Bari’s pop art seamlessly merges with Soho’s fashion trends, creating an electrifying and immersive environment.

The event attracted numerous influencers and high-profile figures, emphasizing the growing influence of FAKE and the POPST-ART brand on modern culture, racking up SOLD OUT events in the city.

Just as pop stars sell music with their shows, Mattia Bari presents the figure of the artist as POPST-ART who sells his art with his shows.
The POPST-ART has collaborated with his art for big celebrities and popstars, prestigious companies and professionals at large, collecting brilliant and original collaborations with visuals and concepts out-of-the-box.

The pieces from the FAKE series are now ON SALE at the luxury fashion stores ‘doors.’ and at the prestigious DAT Gallery by Central Park South, with a massive merchandaising.

Mattia Bari is the POPST-ART of NYC,” says the president and owner of Art Central Galleria El Dorado, Terri M. Dat, who believed in the artist’s talent and visionary intuition from the get-go. “His ‘FAKE’ character changes the vision of American Pop culture.”

The gallerist decided to give to the young artist visibility and prestige by setting his pieces between a Dalì and a Picasso highlighting his value.

This placement underscores Bari’s well-earned success and his emerging role as a key player in the art world.
